At Circular we believe in the importance of Christian Education for all our members, regardless of their age as this learning is essential to the development of a spiritually healthy mind and spirit. Circular's Covenant of the Congregation states that we are a church that covenants to be theologically disciplined and as such:
We will take pains to grow in our understanding of the Christian faith and in our personal experience of faith, and we will challenge each other to do so.
We will cherish the freedom of each person to seek truth and to bring his/her vision of the truth into the church community.
We will strive faithfully to bring every significant issue in our lives under the scrutiny of our Christian faith and practice, and we will seek clearness from others in the congregation when perplexed.
There are a variety of opportunities for discussion, questioning and openness through which participants can grow spiritually while being a part of a Christian community.
Sunday Mornings:Conversations in Faith meets every Sunday morning for discussions on current topics from a faith perspective. All are welcome to join us at 9:45 AM in Lower Lance Hall, which is located behind the nursery, for conversation and coffee. Child care is provided.
Living the Questions: Many in our congreation have participated in this extraordinary living quest. This progressive twelve session study series resonates with those who are looking for a faith that is not bound by literalism and fundamentalism and takes into account the richness and diversity that God created.
Small Groups: Small groups meet throughout the year for the purpose of fostering a greater sense of community by creating closer relationships with God and each other. Groups meet at various times and are open for new members to join at different times of the year.
Supper Circles: Supper Circles meet together in the homes of different members during the year for a time of relaxation and conversation. Meeting times vary and sign-ups take place in late fall.
Women's Retreat: Every year on the second weekend of November the women of Circular gather at Folly Beach for a retreat of renewal of friendships and a relaxing time with like-minded women.
